Podcast Picks: PurelyPope Style!

Today we’re talking PODCASTS! One of my favorite past times. Well, not technically not past time. I typically am listening to podcasts while getting something else done. For example, doing the dishes, driving, showering, cleaning, etc. I took this tip from one of my favorites, Lauryn Evarts to always be learning and to be the most productive with your time. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes my mind just needs a BREAK and I can’t do a podcast but typically I like to really maximize my time in every situation. Alright, so let’s get into shall we?

Podcast Picks by Purely Pope

Podcasts Picks: Business & Self Development

  • The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast
    • I  mean, are you surprised in the least? Lauryn was probably one of the first blogs I ever followed and I couldn’t love her and Michael more. Nick and I had the chance to meet them at their live podcast in the park and it made me love them both even more. The thing I love most about this podcast is that they’re not specific about the genre of people they bring on, it’s an array of super interesting people that have all become experts in their field. Lauryn and Michael have the cutest, most entertaining banter and I love it so much. This podcast is easy listening and good for any sort of situation!
      • There are SO many gems in this podcast it’s hard to pick just one, so here are three of my favorite episodes: ‘#86 Melissa Wood Health – Plant Based Eating, Meditation, Battling Eating Disorders and Being the Best Version of Yourself’, and #136 Justin Anderson – Celebrity Hair Stylist, Launching a Brand Online, Hair Color, Influencer Marketing and Recipes for Success.’
  • Tribe of Mentors
    • This podcast is by Tim Ferris, who was named one of the “Most Innovative Business People” by Fast Company. The podcast is a short form the the Tribe of Mentors book, in which he interviews people who are the best in the world at what they do. If they’re the best in the WORLD, they’ve got to be on to something right? I’ve found it super beneficial to listen to this podcast and get advice for life and business alike from successful people who are in different industries than I am. When you only listen to or are only learning from people who have the same background, interests or environment that you do, I don’t think you can really, truly grow.
      • Two episodes I loved of this pod are ‘Neal Strauss – Learn More, Do Less’ and ‘Whitney Cummings – Find Your Calm.’

Podcast Picks: Health & Wellness

  • Diet Starts Tomorrow
    • Aleen and Sammi are the most real, down to earth girls to listen to. If you’re someone who thinks a lot if all these fads in wellness can be overwhelming, then this podcast is for you. Very similar to the impressive lifestyle brand, Betches that they founded, they say what everyone else is thinking but may not want to say. They’re witty, funny and super intelligent – the titles of the episodes say it all.
      • Start with ‘Let Us Eat Cake ft. Dr. Oz.’ or ‘What it’s Like to Actually *Enjoy* Working Out Ft. Stephen Pasterino.’
  • The mindbodygreen Podcast
    • Led by the Mind Body Green founder, Jason Wachob, this podcast is one for listening when you really want to expand your wellness knowledge. Guests that you’ll find on this podcast are pioneers and thought leaders in the wellness space. It’s a bit heavier of a podcast but the facts and info you will digest from listening are invaluable.
      • Some of my favorites include ’66:  Four Sigmatic Founder Tero Isokauppila On How To Use Mushrooms For Gut Health, Immunity, And More’ and ’67: The Sweetgreen Founders On Connecting Communities To Healthier Food & What “Passion With A Purpose” Means’
  • The Balanced Blonde Podcast // Soul on Fire
    • First of all, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Jordan Younger, the host of this podcast in person and let me tell you – she is a DOLL. Think of the sweetest, most caring and zen girl you could ever think up and Jordan is that girl. At first the podcast moved a little slow for me, but then I started to love it and this is definitely one I enjoy in the mornings.
      • One of my favorite episodes so far has been ‘Ep. 58 ft. Sakara Life – High Vibe Foods, Gut Health, Building A Brand, & Having Fun? Yes, Please!’

Podcast Picks: Social Media/Influencer Specific

  • Beyond Influential
    • Brittany Krystle in and of herself has an impressive background in the influencer market, so if growing a brand is what you’re looking to do, look no further! As a social media and branding expert, she learned what she knows from the best – Gary Vanderchuk! Brittany gets right to the point with questions you want to know on how some of the best influencers in every market became successful at what they’re doing.
      • By far the most beneficial episode for me has been ‘#25 Jordan Bosstick of Influencer SEO on SEO Strategy for Bloggers & How to Use interest Like a Pro’
  • The Influencer Podcast
    • First of all, Julie Soloman’s interview skills are an art form. Julie also was an influencer herself who found that she wasn’t being authentic or finding her voice on her platform. Knowing this, she pivoted and found huge success doing what she is the most passionate about, which I find super admirable. Julie not only interviews the top influencers in the game, but she also has mini episodes with her own tips and tricks that she has up her sleeve – and trust me there are a lot!
      • OK shocker, but my favorite episode was ‘029: Lauryn Evarts of The Skinny Confidential Shares How to Turn a Blog into a Multi-Service Brand + The Power of Being Resourceful’

In conclusion, there’s not just one topic or podcast that I follow. There are some I listen to more religiously than others. There is definitely something out there for you! I really do feel that you need to always expand your knowledge, it can only benefit you! Happy listening!

xoxo
