DIY Healthy Trail Mix

I don’t know about you, but I love a good snack. And even better, I LOVE a good healthy, easy snack. This DIY Healthy Trail Mix is BOTH of those things – healthy and easy. You can make it for a casual get together, to have for the week or even bring with you on a road trip. Let’s get into it!

Healthy Trail Mix Specifics

Trail mix can easily be packed full of candy, but this healthy trail mix one is nutrient dense and delicious, and I’m going to show you how:

  • Pretzels: For this mix, I used these Quinn Almond Butter Filled Pretzels, made from an ancient grain (sorghum) and zero high fructose corn syrup or bleached flour. My kinda pretzel! I also am a huge fan of From the Ground Up Cauliflower Pretzels too!
  • Nuts: For the nuts in this trail mix, I did a combination of pistachios, cashews and chocolate covered almonds (more on those below.) These nuts are very interchangeable depending on what you have on hand. I love adding these in for a great source of protein, fat and fiber!
  • Chocolate: I personally love a sweet and salty take on trail mix, so I had to add a chocolate element here. I went with Skinny Dipped Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds, but I’m also a big fan of Lily’s Chocolate Covered Almonds, which are completely sugar free. You could also do Lily’s Chocolate chips if you prefer!
  • Dried Fruit: These are to add a bit more of sweetness! You can leave out if you want a lower sugar option 🙂
  • Cereal: For the cereal, I chose to go with Three Wishes Honey Cereal which is grain free, only has 3g sugar and has 8g protein per serving. It’s my favorite cereal by far!
