Healthy Travel Must Haves – A Peek in My Carry On

Failure to plan is planning to fail – how true is that?! I always like to bring a few travel essentials to ensure that I’m setting myself up for success and eating healthy while I’m traveling. If I’m not eating healthy and feeling good, I get crabby (multiple people can attest to this, WHOOPS) – I’m an angel, swear! Ha!

Yesterday, I just touched down in Barcelona and I will be doing a seven day cruise, and I wanted to share with you all the items I made sure I brought with me in my carry on, no ifs ands or buts about it! Especially being on the cruise, I’m focusing on keeping my mornings healthy so I can start the day off on the right foot. Then, I’ll have a few items in there to make sure I have something to snack on if needed so that I don’t binge if we’re not able to have a real meal for a long period of time.

I hope this helps you guys for your next adventure- I LOVE traveling, and love it even MORE when I’m equip with ALL of my fave essentials. Of course, all of which you can snag on my favorite, Amazon!

Shop & Fly Away!

  • GG Crackers | I mean, are you surprised? I use these in the morning to eat with eggs since that is always something available to you while traveling, or they’re great to have in the airport to swap out the bread on sandwiches – so easy! That way, you make sure you’re getting in all of your FIBER 🙂

  • Vital Proteins Beauty Collagen Stick Packs | First of all, the flavor of these is Strawberry Lemon, which is so good – so it’s perfect to just throw in some hot water when you’re on the go in the morning. This will keep you energized throughout the day and help beat the look of jet-lag. This will also help you make sure you’re getting enough protein in the morning so you make good decisions throughout the day!

  • Nuun Hydration & Electrolyte Tablets | Hydration is KEY when you’re traveling. Flying alone gets you so bloated and dehydrated, so these are key to drink. Especially if you’re drinking more booze than normal, these will definitely be your best friend!

  • Artisana Organics Raw Almond Butter Packets | OK – these are THE BEST packets to buy if you’re buying the single serve packets, because they’re one of the only brands I’ve found that have the single servings and only one ingredient-  raw almonds. You know how I feel about the added sugars and palm oils – no bueno. I love having these to have a great snack if I’m in a pinch or incorporating into breaky.

  • No-Cow Bars | OK, these are honestly the ONLY protein bar that I like to eat. They have 18G Fiber, only 1G of Sugar and only 6 net carbs. That’s IMPRESSIVE for a protein bar. You need to always read labels when looking at bars, because typically the sugar content is through the roof and the net carbs are insanely high – but these do the trick! If you’re in a pinch and need a meal on the go – these are perfect 🙂

Finally, I never travel without a refillable water bottle. I love my HelloWellness bottle by Custom Ink, and I’m also a HUGE fan of these BKR BPA-Free Glass Water Bottles. I also am obsessed with my Beats by Dre – they’re like little pillows for your ears and are a GAME CHANGER on flights paired with an eye mask to make sure you’re catching enough zzzz’s – I’m BIG on sleep. Anyone who knows me well will tell you, I NEED my sleep – and then I’m an ANGEL 🙂

OK – now I’m off to actually begin to pack for this trip now that I’ve got the essentials figured out! OH – and how could  I forget?! What fun is it to have all of this stuff if you don’t have a cute AF bag to pop it all into? My Boujee Bag is by Ever Ellis – peep their site to see where they sell near you. I grabbed mine at The Fig Tree in West Loop, Chicago!

Bon Voyage! XOXOX
