Carrot Cake Fat Bombs Details
As soon as spring hits, I basically consume carrot cake ANYTHING – and these carrot cake fat bombs are no exception! I love them because they have a touch of sweetness and are insanely satisfying if you need a snack. Here’s what makes them special:
- Eaton Hemp Hearts: I pretty much never shut up about Eaton Hemp as a brand, but their hemp hearts are the STAR of the show when it comes to this recipe. I specifically love their hemp hearts because not only are they USDA certified organic and Non-GMO, but they’re also truly ‘farm to table’ – they show exactly where their seeds are grown and they grow AND sell them. ICYMI, “hemp is a phytoremediation plant so it pulls the good nutrients from the soil, but if it isn’t USDA Organic, it also pulls in toxins, pesticides, and heavy metals.” So this is why it’s so important to ensure you’re getting top quality! Did you know that Hemp Hearts are one of natures most nutrient dense superfoods?! They’re extremely high in complete protein (10g per serving), have all 20 amino acids and all 9 essential amino acids! They’re also rich in Omega 3’s and have the same ratio as fish oil! Did I mention they’re also rich in iron, magnesium, B vitamins, vitamin D, E and fiber too?! I’m sold!
- Cashew Butter: Cashews are very rich in heart healthy fatty acids and promote brain health! Our brains function on fat as fuel – so this adds the perfect accompaniment to your body during an afternoon slump!
- Carrots: Did you know that carrots are an excellent source of vitamin C? They’re also a great source of fiber, so they’re going to allow your blood sugar to stabilize mid-day and slow your digestion.
- The others: We add in a tad of maple syrup and raisins to add a bit of low glycemic sweetness here, as well as some vegan cream cheese to add even more fats into the mix and chia seeds to up the fiber!
